Born and raised in North London, brotherly duo Mega and Mayhem formed the group S.A.S ('Streets All Salute';) in the late 90's, shortly before the pair moved to New York after Mayhem received a basketball scholarship to play for New Dorp High School. Based out of Staten Island, Mega and Mayhem took to Shaolin's mean streets in search of battles and ciphers wherever they could be found. Their burgeoning reputations as vicious battle rappers soon found them throwing down with some of the city's finest, from Sugar Hill in Harlem, to Times Square to Brooklyn's infamous Marcy Projects and the ears of some of its most infamous denizens, finally catching the attention of Kanye West and the Dipset family. Despite catching a case and having to move back to London in 2001, the strong reputation that they had built up during their short stay in New York resulted in them becoming the first UK rappers to get regular rotation on Hot 97 and catch cameos on American mixtapes, building a solid platform for them to get their music heard on both sides of the Atlantic. After joining the Roc-A-Fella/Diplomats roster in 2003, a connect that would land them Roc-A-Wear modelling campaigns, a role in Dame Dash's State Property 2 movie and three tracks on the Diplomats' 2nd team effort 'Diplomatic Immunity', S.A.S. were blessed with a street and corporate presence in America's hip-hop world. Using the time after the collapse of Roc-A-Fella Records to form the now infamous Eurogang crew, S.A.S became the first artists signed to the Diplomats' 'Dipset Europe' imprint and released the best selling 'Streets All Salute' CD and DVD, featuring the likes of Cam'Ron, Juelz Santana and Nicole Wray. After touring throughout Europe the duo ended 2006 by teaming up with Big Mike and MixUnit.com to release the critically acclaimed 'Coming To America' mixtape, once again confirming their position as the leaders of the growing UK hip hop scene and increasing an already deafening buzz throughout America. More than just a mixtape title, 'Coming To America' became reality for S.A.S at the end of the year when they beat the charges from 2001, leaving Mega and Mayhem free to once again fly the British flag on both sides of the Atlantic, paving the way for more success during 2007 and beyond.
